ODYSSEY MANAGEMENT

Regarding the name,
Odyssey Management

Odysseus is the protagonist in Homer's classic poem, The Odyssey, who embarks on a challenging and eventful 10-year journey on his return home from the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters extraordinary adventures and undergoes important self-discovery, gaining invaluable insights about both himself and the world.

His journey even leads him to venture into the depths of the underworld, where he converses with the deceased. Consequently, an odyssey has come to represent not only a lengthy and intricate expedition, often undertaken in pursuit of a goal, but also a spiritual or psychological voyage of profound significance. An odyssey encompasses a profound exploration of one's inner self and the intricacies of the human psyche, in addition to the physical journey and experiences encountered along the way.

In naming this management consulting practice Odyssey Management, it was my purpose to reflect my understanding of the fact that your own journey with your nonprofit will also entail honing the classic virtues of temperance, prudence, justice and fortitude, in addition to the mundane challenges involved in running your nonprofit. It is this personal insight that gives rise to my interest in strategically-focused operations management. It reflects my recognition that the success of any plan hinges on the expression of these important qualities.
